Since its inception in 1998, firstly as an Assembly, and now as a Senedd, ruled by the “Wales Government”, effectively ruled forever by the Wales Labour Party, helped along by their Plaid Cymru associates, those running Wales from Cardiff have allowed the lucrative Renewable Energy Industry to be controlled in Wales by profiteering foreign businesses.
These foreign consortiums have been blessed with Planning and Energy Policies designed by Wales Labour to favour foreign developers to reap our money as they rape our countryside. They’ve mostly operated in a secretive manner as regards statistics and outputs and subsidies.
Now, nearly three decades late, having missed the boat to the ‘foreign big boys’, the Wales Government is belatedly establishing a State owned Wales Electric business called Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru. The 1st April 2024 is the launch date for this Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru, a public company wholly owned by the Welsh Government, for us the taxpaying Welsh public. As a public company it will now be subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004. So as from the new financial year we should all start asking probing questions about this business and how it handles our money. They will in future have to answer us in fine detail.
I. Richard, Swansea.
