Wales Labour Government Draft Budget for 2024 – 2025 published in New Year 2024 confirms expenditure aimed at averting Climate Change to be in total for the forthcoming year £2.6 billion – £2,600,000,000. This to achieve their target policy of making little Wales to be world’s global leader in combatting climate change. This has been seized upon as a deluded policy by critics. This figure was published in arrogance as Health and Education Services desperately need a bigger boost in expenditure.
It was a declaration of ARROGANCE to MATCH DELUSION.
As soon as it initiated criticism by a few of us in the public they started to back track saying the £2.6 billion included all sorts of expenditure like :- Housing to be built with new Building regulations; outstanding flood prevention defence measures; sea wall walls; thermal insulation and ground heat sources on all future new builds; supporting renewable energy production – their list is endless.
By their arrogant initial pronouncement to support their delusions, they have had to backtrack their sensationalism with excuses that we the public don’t understand the small print.
They are defending themselves effectively by saying we the public are stupid.
Why did they make that pronouncement? Obviously it was to impress globally their climate commitment by delusions for an urgent global leading carbon free Wales.
Why did they not tell us what we need them to spend our money on – yes our money.
We need and want a first class National Health Service – which Wales invented.
We need better education to climb up the European comparison tables.
We need first class accessible affordable warm dry housing for the next century.
We need better public transport and better highways and railways.
We need existing flood protection beyond any new threat of any climate change.
We need a Senedd that listens to big petitions and public outrage.
We need new faces in Wales Government and real scrutiny by opposition Senedd members.
We need elected Members, not list members nominated by cosy little clique groups.
We need to expose the scrutinised reality of where this £2.6 BILLION is to be spent.
