Man jailed for over six years after sexually assaulting woman

A man has been a jailed for over six years after he sexually assaulted a woman.

David Walsh, aged 41, of Gabalfa in Cardiff, was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on October 10 to six years and six months after being found guilty of:

  • one count of sexual assault on a female
  • two counts of assault a female 13 and over by penetration with part of body / a thing

Detective Sergeant Josh Danaher said:“I would like to thank the victim for her strength and resilience throughout this investigation. Walsh’s actions have had an extremely significant impact on her, so I hope this sentence goes some way in helping her move onwards from his actions.

“If you are a victim of a sexual offence, please report it to police. We will always take your reports seriously and we are committed to holding offenders like Walsh to account.”
