November marks the start of national vegan month, and with record-breaking participants for Veganuary earlier this year it’s clear that more of the UK population is considering a plant-based diet.

Brits are certainly keen to start their day off right as google searches for ‘best breakfast/brunch near me’ has seen a 132% increase in the past year, along with the hashtag #veganbreakfast amassing 295 million views on TikTok.

Whether it’s the first bite of a croissant or a sip of an oat latte, there’s no denying food is the best part of travelling and people are increasingly prioritizing food options when considering their next trip. Looking at factors such as  the number of bakeries, breakfast restaurants, coffee shops and social media posts, online travel agent loveholidays has revealed the best cities in the UK to head for brunch.

London takes the top spot as the best city for brunch enthusiasts. The capital is home to 4,002 breakfast cafes, 248 bakeries and 1,090 coffee shops. Additionally, the city has racked up over 500,000 social posts for #breakfastlondon and over 1,000 for #veganbreakfastlondon too- visitors are sure to find a place worth posting about!

With over 130,000 searches for ‘breakfast in Edinburgh’, visitors are keen to find the best the city has to offer. With places like Café Marmalade, Fountain Café and Tani Modi, the cobbled streets of Edinburgh have lots of hearty breakfast spots to start the day off right.

Home to over 800 cafes and over 50 bakeries, from greasy spoons to independent cafes, Manchester certainly has its fair share of amazing breakfast spots, helping it to come in third. Top picks include Ezra and Gill, Koffee Pot and Idle Hands, all of which serve up delicious menus that will leave visitors feeling satisfied.
