Wales’ best curry takeaway has been named among a host of winners at the British Bangladeshi Business Awards(BBBAs).
The awards not only recognise outstanding achievements and entrepreneurs but also named the best curry takeaway and restaurants across the UK.
Over 500 guests attended the glittering national awards ceremony at New Bingley Hall in Birmingham on October 25, returning for the first time since the covid pandemic and with Amnesty International as a charity partner.
Hosted by journalist and author Suzanne Virdee, it celebrated business achievements, top restaurants and community work of those connected to Bangladeshi communities across the UK, many renowned for being behind the best curry houses in the UK.
Taking the title of best takeaway in Wales was Spice Mix in Caldicot. While The Three Mughals in Newport was named Best Restaurant in Wales.
Serving Caldicot with unmatched food quality and hygiene, Spice Mix is a rising star in Welsh takeaway culture. Famed for genuine street food, tandoori grills, and innovative creations like ‘The Loaded Tandoori’ and their iconic Munch Box, they deliver bold flavors with ultimate consistency.
Judges praised The Three Bughals for being immaculately clean, wonderfully welcoming, and consistently faultles. “That is the magic of The Three Mughals,” commented judges. “Powered by an award-winning chef and a team that treats every guest like family, they deliver flawless presentations and exquisite flavors that keep diners coming back.”
Mohammed Golam Kibria from Newport also clinched the Best Technology & Software Innovation Award. With over two decades in hospitality and technology, Muhammad Golam Kibria from Newport in Wales empowers independent businesses nationwide through GKSOFT UK.
Serving over 500 clients with smart EPOS and online ordering systems, he also unites the industry through the British Curry Network.
Dr Mish Rahman, head of Desh Foundation UK, which organised the BBBAs, said: “These awards recognise outstanding businesses and the latest successes in the British Bangladeshi community are an inspiration. They show why you should dream bigger, work harder and contribute more to society.
“Every nominee and finalist made us feel proud. These awards aim to encourage enterprise, promote investment and build bridges between the UK and Bangladesh.”
