Plans for up to 50 new homes for social rent in Bargoed have moved a step closer.
Caerphilly County Borough Council has confirmed it will work in partnership with leading design and build main contractor Wynne Construction to deliver the new homes on the Park Estate.
The new homes will be allocated to eligible people registered for social housing in the borough and will include a mix of two-bedroom bungalows, one-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom family homes.
Cllr Shayne Cook, Caerphilly Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing, said “Everyone should be able to access a safe, secure, high-quality affordable home. But as the national housing crisis continues the demand for all types of homes is growing.
“The new homes in Bargoed will give more people the opportunity to find a home that meets their needs and provide a firm foundation for local families.”
Simon Moreton, commercial director at Wynne Construction, added “We are delighted to have been appointed by Caerphilly Homes and to join the team on its journey to create a high-quality new development for the Bargoed community.
“Throughout the scheme, we will work closely with Caerphilly County Borough Council, local residents and our project partners, while investing in local employment and skills and delivering meaningful community engagement.
“We look forward to creating lasting benefits for the area alongside much-needed new homes.”
Work is expected to begin in Spring 2027. Residents will be kept updated on progress throughout the project.
