Three cemeteries managed by Caerphilly County Borough Council have achieved Silver Award status in the 2026 BRAMM Cemetery of the Year Awards.

Gwaelod y Brithdir Cemetery, Gwaun Gledyr Cemetery and Bedwellty Cemetery each received national recognition, with all three achieving Silver Award status.

Organised by the British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM), the awards recognise high standards in cemetery management, including the services and facilities provided to bereaved families, industry best practice and the overall maintenance and appearance of sites.

Cllr Chris Morgan, Cabinet Member for Green Spaces, said: “We are extremely proud that three of our cemeteries have achieved Silver Award status. This recognition reflects the care and dedication of our teams in maintaining these important places for our communities.”

The achievement is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of council staff involved in maintaining, improving and developing the cemeteries, as well as their commitment to providing respectful, well-maintained places for remembrance.
