A man from Swansea has been jailed after he attacked and injured another man while carrying out a burglary at the man’s home.

46-year-old Michael Parker, from Penlan, targeted an address in Mount Pleasant. During the break-in, the victim discovered Parker going through his fridge. The victim then managed to push Parker out of the property, but Parker assaulted him in the process.
Parker pleaded guilty to attempting grievous bodily harm during a dwelling burglary and has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Detective Sergeant Alanna Lan said:
“This will have been a traumatic experience for the victim, who entered his kitchen to find a stranger going through his belongings.
“Even when caught, Michael Parker still made things worse for himself by assaulting the victim. His violence shows that he is a dangerous individual.
“I would like to pay tribute to the work of Detective Constable Gemma Tarling where her diligent investigation, which included extensive CCTV work, was influential in securing this sentence.”
