With two waves of announcements already out, The Green Gathering festival is building to an exciting 2025 edition packed with vibrant music, family fun, and environmentally-themed inspiration in the lush surrounds of Piercefield Park, overlooking the Wye Valley.
Leading the line-up is British icon Billy Bragg. Politically-charged hip hop artist Lowkey joins folk singer-songwriter Martha Tilston and Beans on Toast who’ll be bringing heartfelt humour and wisdom to the stage, supported by festival favourites Rusty Shackle, Sound of the Sirens, Seize The Day, The Trouble Notes and more. Latest line-up additions include legendary producer Youth (Killing Joke, The Orb), punk-rock powerhouse The Kut, and high-energy jazz-punk outfit Ask My Bull.
The Speakers’ Forum returns with a programme including Green MP Ellie Chowns, climate scientist Prof. Tim Lenton, XR co-founder Clare Farrell, and Karim Mussilhy, campaigner for Grenfell justice – this is where urgent voices inspire action.
Popular festival venues will return: The Uncommon’s 2025 theme Marvellous Menagerie will be embodied in street theatre, woodland dance parties, and a fantastic puppet parade; Soundscape Solar Stage will provide epic sound and sweeping valley views; the Floating Lotus domes will reverberate with live music, DJs and table tennis; Welsh outfit Triban brings folk-funk grooves and campfire jams; and The Raconteurs’ Delight provides a home for storytelling, late-night cabaret and the legendary Sunday Poetry Slam.
Parched? Grab a locally brewed ale or a wild-foraged cocktail from one of the festival’s bars. Mead Hall, run by Welsh beekeepers, is new for 2025.
Families enjoy face-painting, nature play, bubble shows, sock wrestling, table football and puppet making. Teens have a space of their own with music, trapeze, juggling, crafts, cookery, and campfires.
The multi-award-winning festival continues to grow its reputation as a platform for grassroots live music, a driver of social change, and a haven of wellbeing with free yoga sessions running all day.
“The Green Gathering is more than a festival,” says director Em Weirdigan. “It’s a living glimpse of a better world – a place where music, activism and community meet, all powered by renewable energy and the passion of those involved.”
