Libanus Lifestyle, located inside Libanus Christian Centre, Blackwood, is thrilled to announce significant building developments, thanks to a collaborative investment of £50,000 from the Welsh Government and Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Following a previous match-funded £50,000 investment from Welsh Government and CCBC for roof renovations in 2023, this year’s funding supports vital loft extension upgrades. The extension, featuring the buildings 1800s original beams, will soon become a multi-functional meeting room with kitchen and bathroom facilities, further enhancing its usability. Work began in November and is aiming to be completed early 2025.

Future plans include the addition of an internal mezzanine above the ground floor, adding even more dynamic spaces to the hub. The kitchen, a cornerstone of the hub’s community-centred mission, has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, reflecting strong public support for this project.

The hub has proudly hosted Barclays since March 2024, with their tenancy recently extended for another year. CCBC’s business team is actively working to improve facilities across the borough, creating welcoming, secure, and inclusive environments like the one at Libanus Lifestyle.

The hub’s development embodies the council’s commitment to fostering a safe and supportive community space for all. It also highlights the valuable relationship with Barclays and other partners committed to driving positive local impact.

Television presenter and author Iolo Williams visited the hub for the third time and commented:
“What I love about it most of all is the community-feel here. Everybody here is so keen to help each other out. That to me, is the overriding emotion that I will take away.”

These improvements symbolise CCBC’s dedication to enhancing community spaces, with Libanus Lifestyle serving as a shining example of what can be achieved when partnerships, funding, and community spirit all align.
