RONALD THE ROTTWEILER FINDS HIS ‘FUREVER’ HOME IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS AFTER 20 MONTHS IN REHOMING CENTRE

A three year old Rottweiler will be celebrating his first Christmas in his forever home after spending 20 months in the care of Dogs Trust Bridgend. 

Ronald had a tough start to life after finding his way to the charity’s rehoming centre through no fault of his own and sought a positive second chance at life and patient owners who could help him build up his confidence. Although he was a firm favourite of the team at Dogs Trust Bridgend, they have been working hard to find him a home of his own with patient owners who could help him build up his confidence.  

Ronald’s dreams of a forever home came true in October 2023 when he met his new family, Scott James and Lauren Shepherd. The couple, moved by Ronald’s story, eagerly adopted him into their home, marking the beginning of a special bond. 

Lauren Sheppard expressed the couple’s excitement, saying: 

“The first time we saw Ronald, he was apprehensive and vocal through the window, but we knew we had to meet him in person. Instantly, we bonded. Adopting him was emotional, but starting the next chapter of our lives with Ronald was the best decision ever. He’s made himself at home in our hearts, and honestly, saying hello to this handsome boy was the best choice we ever made.” 

Angela Wetherall, Rehoming Centre Manager for Dogs Trust Wales, said: 

“Ronald stole our hearts with his happy personality, and we’re delighted that he has found a loving family in time for the holidays.” 

“Every dog deserves a loving home, not just for Christmas but for a lifetime. We are delighted that Ronald has found his forever home, and we wish him and his new family a joyous holiday season and many more to come.”
