Cardiff-based free debt platform Income and Expenditure Hub (IE Hub) has announced its partnership with GamCare, the leading provider of specialist support for individuals with gambling debt.
The collaboration marks a significant step forward in addressing the growing concerns surrounding gambling harm and its impact on personal finances.
In 2023 the number of UK individuals seeking help for problem gambling increased by 30% a figure IE Hub hopes bring down via the partnership.[1]
Combining expertise and free resources to create a solution for those in need, IE Hub’s, first-ever online tool to capture gambling spend, will provide invaluable insights and data to empower users with a deeper understanding of their gambling habits and financial commitments.
With a shared vision to reduce gambling harm and improve financial well-being, IE Hub customers will be offered details of a range of support provided by GamCare. Those needing specialist assistance in managing gambling-related financial difficulties will be signposted to GamCare’s dedicated National Gambling Helpline.
GamCare’s Money Guidance Service will be utilising IE Hub as its client management platform. By integrating IE Hub’s I&E assessment tool into their operations, GamCare gains access to a powerful and data-driven platform that enhances their ability to assist individuals in need.
Furthermore, GamCare’s Money Guidance Service supports people who have been financially impacted by gambling to help them get their finances back on track. The service provides guidance to help people understand their spending habits, manage their budgets, recognise spending triggers establish boundaries from them and suggest other changes they could make. The service is also open to people who are affected by someone else’s gambling and will work with them to improve their own financial position.
By combining the cutting-edge capabilities of IE Hub’s I&E assessment tool with the expert support of GamCare’s Money Guidance Service, both organisations are poised to impact the lives of those affected by gambling harm.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with GamCare to offer our clients a seamless pathway to specialised support when it comes to addressing gambling-related financial challenges,” said Mark McElvaney, Client Services Director of IE Hub. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions about their gambling habits and finances.”
Kathy Wade, Money Guidance Service Manager, GamCare: “With 75% of people who use GamCare’s services last year citing financial challenges as a result of their gambling, we know how important the financial picture can be when supporting someone in their recovery from gambling. Partnering with IE Hub means that anyone enlisted in GamCare’s services will gain free access to IE Hub’s platform and help provide the tools to get their finances back on track.”
