Further to the drainage works completed in late 2021 / early 2022, the Caerphilly CBC intend to complete one outstanding culvert outfall during the 2023 school summer holidays under full road closure.

Further to the drainage works completed in late 2021 / early 2022, the Caerphilly CBC intend to complete one outstanding culvert outfall during the 2023 school summer holidays under full road closure.

Works are scheduled to start on the 24th July 2023 and last for approximately 5 days under full road closure between the junction of Factory Road and Groes-Faen Terrace. Please note the programme is subject to change depending on weather and unforeseen issues on site.

Pedestrian and vehicle diversion route (PDF) which will be in place for the duration of this scheme.

A replacement shuttle bus service will be in place during these works.  The Authority have provisionally retained the replacement shuttle service over the weekend of the 29th and 30th July 2023 should the works programme overrun.  The shuttle service will travel between:

  • Groes-Faen Terrace and Fochriw (Monday through Saturday) and,
  • Groes-Faen Terrace and Pontlottyn  (Sunday only) 
  • Passengers will need to board the normal bus service from the Fochriw or Pontlottyn for their onward journey.
