Rosie Chung committed a spate of thefts across Cardiff.
She mostly targeted shops and over a six-week period stole goods worth more than £1,200.
Candles, chocolate bars, laundry products, coffee, meats, and bedding were among the items stolen from Farmfoods in Ely, Co-Op in Fairwater and Llandaff, Homesense in Llanshen, The Family Shopper, Grand Avenue, Ely, and Tesco, Culverhouse Cross.
She was also caught on CCTV stealing a holdall from the front seat of an unlocked car in Riverside, Cardiff.
But she is now prison, following an investigation by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Chung was arrested at her Ely home on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, and was sentenced at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court two days later.
She pleaded guilty to 13 offences made up of eight thefts from store, two frauds, one theft from motor vehicle, one public order offence and one assault against a retail worker.
Chung was jailed for 52 weeks.
Neighbourhood Inspector for Ely, Canton and Fairwater, Tim Ursell said: “Chung is well known to local neighbourhood policing officers who recognised her CCTV.
“We welcome the outcome at court and hope it provides some reassurance to the many victims in this case.”
