According to a new survey, 2 p.m. is the most popular time of day Swansea residents sit down to eat their Christmas dinner.
The survey, conducted by Woods Furniture, uncovered the Christmas dinner habits of 2,000 UK adults. It delved into their festive dinner traditions, including the most common time, location, and serving styles for the festive meal.
Key findings from the survey for Swansea include:
- 43% of Swansea residents sit down for their Christmas dinner at 2pm
- 74% have their Christmas dinner in their own home
- Over four in five have their Christmas dinner on individually plated meals
The survey found that 2 PM is the most popular time for Christmas dinner among Swansea residents, with 43% selecting it as their ideal dining hour. This preference reflects a broader trend across the UK, where 2 PM is also the nation’s favourite time to enjoy the festive meal.
Swansea residents also favour having their Christmas dinner with home comforts, with 74% having their festive meal in their own home.
Meanwhile, individually plated meals were uncovered as the most preferred serving style in Swansea, with over four in five (83%) of residents revealing this as their go-to for Christmas dinner. This coincides with the majority of Brits, with almost half (47%) of the nation preferring Christmas dinner to be served as individually plated meals.
Commenting on the findings, Sam Deeble, Furniture Expert at Woods Furniture, said: “Sitting down for Christmas dinner is often the most cherished moment of the day and one that involves significant preparation. This study gave us the opportunity to explore the festive traditions of UK households, shedding light on their Christmas Day routines and how they vary across communities.
“Our research reveals that 2 PM is the most popular time for Brits to sit down for their Christmas dinner. This suggests a longer morning dedicated to preparations, followed by an evening filled with celebrations and quality time.
