Two men jailed for Swansea Class A drug supply

Two men – one from Swansea and another from London – have been jailed for their involvement in the supply of Class A drugs.

38-year-old Osman Ishmail, from Swansea city centre, and 43-year-old Mustafa Daud, from Silvertown, London were occupants in a car stopped by officers in February due to intelligence linking the vehicle to drug supply.

Officers did not find drugs in the car, but did find a burner-style phone, of which both men denied knowledge. The phone was seized, and later confirmed to be linked to the “Marcus” drug line via a SIM download.

Later the same day, both men attended Swansea Central police station alongside a drug user, having told the drug user to claim that the phone belonged to him. They had offered the man cannabis in exchange for claiming the phone was his.

Osman Ishmail has been sentenced to five years and six months in prison. Mustafa Daud has been sentenced to six years in prison.

PC Howarth said:

“Both Osman Ishmail and Mustafa Daud realised that they had been caught out when officers found their burner phone in their vehicle, and quickly hatched a plan to have their drugs line avoid detection. Fortunately, officers were having none of it.

“Both men had been heavily involved in the supply of Class A drugs – namely heroin and cocaine. The damage that both of these drugs do to people’s lives in our communities – both to users and to those around them – is incalculable.

“They are two men who clearly do not care about that – they only care about the money coming in. People like that are not welcome in our society, and they will now lose years of their lives in prison.”
