Darren Bishop 52, from Bridgend has been sentenced to two years and nine months in prison following his conviction.
The sentencing took place on Friday February 13, 2026, at Cardiff Crown Court where Bishop pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, possession with intent to supply MDMA, two counts of possession with intent to supply class A- other, possession with intent to supply cannabis and two counts of possession with intent to supply class C- other
The case stems from a South Wales Police investigation which started when officers received information in 2021 that there were drugs being imported into the area. Officers took the address from the parcels and attended for a search; Bishop was at the address when searched.
A large quantity of drugs were found and Bishop claimed that he had bought them on the dark web. He stated the drugs were to self-medicate and that he was giving the rest to a third party to sell on.
PC Rhodri Wilson said“Drug dealers try to hide their activities and will always try to evade officers, but we will investigate every opportunity available to us. This work often takes patience and perseverance, but we will do what is necessary to ensure those who deal drugs are arrested and put before the courts.”
