One of the UK’s fastest rising bands – THE K’S – are kicking off 2024 with a bang. Ahead of their highly anticipated debut album ‘I Wonder If The World Knows’, out 5 April, the four-piece reveal their new single “No Place Like Home”.

“No Place Like Home” was written by band members Jamie Boyle and Ryan Breslin and recorded, mixed and produced by Gareth Nuttall (The Lottery Winners, Frank Turner, Dirty Blonde). Speaking of the fast-paced, energetic track, the band explain of its deep-rooted and personal story:“”No Place Like Home” is a story of the weekly occurrence of anxiety and panic attacks every Sunday. Starting with an initial feeling of confusion as to why your body feels like it’s fighting to survive closely followed by the panic that sets in as you retrace your steps through the night before. The dreaded “beer fear” and financial hardship that makes you promise you’ll never do it again – only to do the exact same the weekend after. The song constantly battles to try and find balance between the temporary tranquillity that comes with being intoxicated and the harsh reality of the longer term effects it has on both physical and mental health.”

Accompanying the release is the official video, available to watch HERE. Directed by Geoff Owens, the video features a teenager putting on a cassette of the band, dancing around the streets and using the music as a form of escapism, interspersed with scenes of the band performing the track. Speaking of the video’s concept, guitarist Ryan Breslinsays: 

“We wanted to try capturing the energy of the track live as well as through the reaction of people listening to it and the young lad bouncing round his town to his favourite tune has done this perfectly.” 

Director Geoff Owens adds: “This concept presents an exciting visual opportunity, allowing us to showcase the band’s mastery while authentically conveying their live essence, both through an electrifying performance and visceral experience for the listener.” 

 “No Place Like Home” follows on from previous single “Heart On My Sleeve”, the first single to be released from their hugely anticipated debut album ‘I Wonder If The World Knows’. The album, which can be pre-ordered here has already received thousands of pre-orders and is available on Vinyl, Cassette, CD and all digital platforms. Speaking about the upcoming release, Jamie says: “The long wait is nearly over, and we are finally on the brink of releasing our debut album. I Wonder If The World Knows is a written journey throughout the last couple of years of our lives throughout the ups, the downs and everything in between. We’ve put our heart and soul into making the perfect record and we can’t wait for you to hear it.”

After the album release, the Earlestown indie champs take on some of the most sizable venues of their career. The tour will include headline shows at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse and London’s Electric Ballroom. In anticipation of the tour, the band says: “After the release of our debut album “I Wonder If The World Knows” we will be heading out on our biggest tour to date! We couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve created and we can’t wait to play it live for you all.” They have also recently been announced for 2024’s Isle of Wight Festival and will support Blossoms in Manchester in August. As well as selling out multiple dates over the UK including selling every ticket for their Manchester Academy show in under 24 hours, they have also opened the main stages at Isle of Wight and Neighbourhood Festivals, as well as gracing the main stages at Leeds, Reading & Kendal Calling, and tore the roof down at last year’s Tramlines, with hundreds unable to get into the big top to see them play. They’ve supported Liam Gallagher, James and Blondie. Their debut single “

Sarajevo“ notched up over 5.1 million streams, and their recent single “Hoping Maybe“ became a phone-lights-on live anthem that reached number 2 on the iTunes chart, kept off the top spot only by Miley Cyrus’ record breaking single “Flowers”.
