Sir Gareth Edwards cuts the ribbon on new high-tech Self Storage Facility in Bridgend.

Rugby legend Sir Gareth Edwards was the special guest for the grand opening of the latest blue self storage facility at a site on Waterton Road in Bridgend.

Officially opening its doors to businesses and the general public on Thursday 5th September, this is the company’s 3^rd site in Wales.

To mark the day and highlight blue self storage’s commitment to playing its part in the local community, the business hosted a number of local companies and organisations with Sir Gareth cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

Chris Bryan, Managing Director said: “As a proud independent Welsh company, being at the heart of the community is vitally important to us. That’s why we are delighted to celebrate the official opening of our new site with Sir Gareth, who has had an affiliation with the business since we were established by our late Chairman, Nick Williams, in 1988.”

Dean Daly, Operations Manager added “Seeing the site develop over the past few months has been incredible. Our suppliers and contractors have done a great job completing a site we’re extremely proud on. Its friendly and fun which reflects our brand and commitment to customer service. We look forward to welcoming the people of Bridgend to a great self storage facility.”

Before cutting the ribbon, Sir Gareth jested that he “hoped the scissors were sharp enough to slice through the ribbon, as much as he hoped the Welsh Rugby Team would slice through the Georgia Defence on Saturday!”

The Bridgend facility offers over 15,000sqft in self storage space, featuring the most modern digital security and access systems. This addition, along with recent growth on other sites has resulted in blue self storage doubling their employee numbers in the last 4 years.
