Remembrance Sunday 2020 will be like no other due to the pandemic, but the council has joined forces with the Royal British Legion to commemorate those in the armed forces who have served or given their lives for their country.

Rob Stewart, Leader of the Council, said commemorations this year will be special because the firebreak rules mean activities on Sunday cannot take place as they have in previous years.

But he added: “We can all do our bit with a simple, safe act of remembrance by standing on our doorsteps in silence on Sunday morning at 11am for the National Two Minute Silence.”

Swansea Council has joined forces with the Royal British Legion to highlight commemorations which are taking place to remember those who have served in our country’s armed forces and those who have given their lives for their country.
